Sectarianism Debunked: The 73 Sects Hadith

In this lecture, Sheikh Yasir Qadhi systematically examines the famous "73 sects" hadith — its authenticity, its various interpretations across four scholarly traditions, and why dogmatic sectarian readings of it are incompatible with the Quran's clear message of unity. He argues, drawing on Quranic verses and mutawatir ahadith, that Quranic salvation is defined by sincere belief and good deeds — not theological labels — and that the bulk of the ummah is, by both Quranic logic and the theological corollary of the Finality of Prophethood, among the rightly guided.
