Shaykh Dr. Haitham al-Haddad is a British Islamic scholar and jurist of Palestinian descent. He studied under scholars in Saudi Arabia, memorized the Qur'an, and earned a PhD in Islamic law from SOAS, University of London. He serves on the boards of several UK Islamic organizations, is a founding member of the Islamic Council of Europe, and writes and lectures extensively on fiqh, family law, and Muslim minority issues. His positions on various social topics have at times generated public debate.
