Yasir FahmyShaykh Yasir Fahmy is an American scholar of Egyptian heritage, raised in New Jersey, and the first American to be certified from Al-Azhar's prestigious program of traditional licensure — having studied at Al-Azhar University in Cairo for nearly a decade, earning ijazahs in the classical sciences. He served as the Senior Imam of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center (ISBCC), where his khutbahs drew thousands, and later founded initiatives for spiritual education. He is known for weaving classical scholarship, tazkiyah, and professional life experience (he worked in corporate finance before his studies) into deeply practical teaching.
