Ubaydullah Evans

Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans is an American scholar and the first Scholar-in-Residence of the American Learning Institute for Muslims (ALIM). A Chicago native who embraced Islam in high school, he studied journalism at Columbia College before pursuing traditional Islamic studies at Chicago's Institute of Islamic Education, in Tarim (Yemen), and at Al-Azhar University in Cairo. Known for his eloquence on questions of race, tradition, and American Muslim culture, he teaches nationally and mentors emerging Muslim leaders and converts.
