Shaykh Dr. Mohammad Akram Nadwi is an Indian-born scholar based in Oxford, England, and one of the most accomplished traditional scholars in the Western world. A graduate of Nadwatul Ulama in Lucknow with a PhD from Lucknow University, he served for years as a research fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and is the founding Dean of Cambridge Islamic College. He is internationally renowned for his monumental 43-volume biographical dictionary "al-Wafa bi Asma al-Nisa," documenting over 10,000 female scholars of hadith, popularized through its English introduction "Al-Muhaddithat: The Women Scholars in Islam."
