Imam Johari Abdul-Malik is an American imam and community leader who served for many years as the Director of Outreach at Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia. A convert to Islam from a Christian background, he was the first Muslim chaplain installed at Howard University and has been a prominent national voice on civic engagement, interfaith cooperation, and countering violent extremism. He is known for his charismatic style and his advocacy for African-American Muslim history and community development.
