Talib Abdur-RashidImam Al-Hajj Talib Abdur-Rashid is the imam emeritus of the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood in Harlem, New York — a community with roots tracing back to the movement of Shaykh Daoud Ahmed Faisal and the indigenous African-American Sunni tradition. A veteran community activist, he has led work on civil and human rights, police accountability, and interfaith coalition-building in New York City for decades, and served as deputy amir of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA). His lectures address Islam and social justice, Black American Muslim history, and prophetic activism.
