Ustadha Zaynab Ansari is an American scholar and teacher who spent a decade studying the traditional Islamic sciences — including Arabic, Qur'an, hadith, and Shafi'i and Hanafi fiqh — at Abu Nour University's precollege and undergraduate programs in Damascus, Syria, with further study in the US. She has served as a scholar-in-residence and instructor at Tayseer Seminary in Knoxville, Tennessee, and teaches for institutions including SeekersGuidance. A columnist and essayist on women's issues, spirituality, and Islamic history, she is known for pastoral sensitivity on questions of marriage, family, and women's religious life.
