Zaytuna College Conversation
About this lecture
In this wide-ranging conversation at Zaytuna College, Professor Tariq Ramadan engages students and faculty in a deep dialogue on Islamic epistemology, the decolonization of knowledge, and the relationship between reason, spirituality, and truth. Drawing on figures from Al-Ghazali to Edward Said, Ramadan challenges Muslims to develop intellectual confidence rooted in their tradition while critically engaging Western academic frameworks, and addresses student questions on topics ranging from the place of logic in Islam to navigating Eurocentric institutions and responding to ethical challenges with wisdom and compassion.
