In this lecture delivered at the Under His Shade Conference, Shaykh Tariq Musleh explores what it truly means to know Allah — not merely as a cognitive fact, but as a lived, experiential reality. Drawing on the Arabic distinction between *'ilm* (knowing of) and *ma'rifah* (truly knowing), he explains how the Names of Allah serve two transformative purposes: *takhalluq* (embodying and manifesting the Names) and *ta'alluq* (clinging to Allah through them). The lecture is a powerful call to move beyond surface-level faith and discover Allah in every moment of daily life.

Shaykh Tariq Musleh is an American scholar based in the Chicago area. He memorized the Qur'an at age 13, received ijazah in recitation through Palestine, and graduated from the Islamic University of Madinah with an associate degree in Arabic and a bachelor's degree from the College of Shariah, with additional classical Arabic study at the Fajr Center in Egypt. He has served as youth director at the Islamic Center of Naperville, youth director and assistant imam at the Mecca Center in Willowbrook, Illinois, and instructor with the Islamic Learning Foundation Chicago and Miftaah Institute. He is also pursuing clinical mental health training, reflecting his focus on youth wellness and spiritual care.
