Imam Suhaib Webb is an American scholar who embraced Islam in 1992 in Oklahoma after a youth spent as a hip-hop DJ. He studied under Senegalese Shaykh Muhammad Shareef, memorized the Qur'an, and graduated from Al-Azhar University's College of Shariah in Cairo. He served as imam of major communities including the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center (ISBCC) — one of the largest mosques in New England — and as scholar-in-residence institutions in New York and Washington DC. Known for his fluency in both classical scholarship and American culture, he pioneered online Islamic education through virtual mosque platforms and his SWISS institute, and speaks on fiqh, spirituality, and Muslim-American identity.
