Zayd ibn Al-Arqam (ra): Exposer of Hypocrites | The Firsts | Dr. Omar Suleiman

About this lecture

In this episode of The Firsts, Dr. Omar Suleiman profiles Zayd ibn Al-Arqam (ra), a young companion of the Prophet ﷺ raised by the noble Abdullah ibn Rawaha, who became famous for exposing the chief hypocrite of Medina, Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul. His courageous testimony was divinely vindicated through the revelation of Surah Al-Munafiqun, and he went on to become a respected scholar who narrated nearly 100 hadith — including well-known duas and key rulings still practiced by Muslims today. The episode explores his youth, his trials, his spiritual resilience, and his enduring legacy in Islamic scholarship.
