18:10Omar Suleiman - Muslims: Agents of Positive Change
About this lecture
In this lecture, Sheikh Omar Suleiman examines the relationship between Islam and the various social and political ideologies of our time, arguing that authentic Islam — rooted in the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ — is not merely compatible with addressing the world's problems, but uniquely equipped to do so. He explores why people gravitate toward ideology through personal experience and tribal belonging, critiques both the religious right and left for losing authenticity, and presents a powerful three-part framework: Islam is Current, Consistent, and Compassionate. Using the Prophetic parable of the ship, he calls on Muslims to address the legitimate grievances driving people toward false ideologies rather than simply condemning those ideologies from a position of self-righteousness.
