Muhammad AlshareefShaykh Muhammad Alshareef (1975–2022, rahimahullah) was a Canadian scholar, educator, and pioneer of modern Islamic education in the West. A hafiz of the Qur'an and graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah in Islamic law, he founded AlMaghrib Institute in 2002, which grew into one of the largest Islamic educational institutions in the English-speaking world, teaching hundreds of thousands of students. He later founded DiscoverU, focusing on personal development rooted in faith, and popularized concepts like "Visionaire" life planning and the famous "Du'a: The Weapon of the Believer" seminar. He passed away in 2022, leaving an enormous legacy in Western Islamic education.
