In this Ramadan lecture, Arif Hussain explores why so many Muslims feel emotionally disconnected during worship — unable to weep or feel moved by the Qur'an and salah — while the Prophet ﷺ and his companions were brought to tears by even a few verses. Drawing on moving stories from the Seerah and key Quranic verses from Surah Al-Isra, he diagnoses this as a disease of the heart and prescribes three cures: seeking true knowledge (ilm), abandoning heedlessness (ghafla), and making sincere du'a to Allah.
