i learnt so much from this, alhamdulilah
Salamu Alaikum. JAK to the efforts of all the Du’aat calling to Islam and may ALLAH (SWT) guide us all to what’s True and Correct. I just want to clarify a point that’s mentioned in the title. In regards to a hadith which speaks about Surat Yaseen being the heart of the Quran, this Hadith has been classified as “fabricated” by Sheik Alalbani.
JAK and ALLAH (SWT) knows best.
Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda taught a class on surah yaseen and he mentioned how there is a difference of opinion on the matter of the authenticity of the hadith. Shaykh Al-Abaani (rahiamullah) declared it weak but the majority of classical scholars (ibn Kathir, Qurtubi rahiamullah) declared it authentic. and Allah SWT knows best.
JAK, Indeed time will reflect meaning of the Quran.
Tafseer based on combination of Naqal and Aqal
will give more understanding.
Assalamu Alaikum. I was at this retreat and there were three lectures on Surah Yasin. This is just one part. Will you be uploading the other 2 lectures too inshAllah?
I THING SURAH YASIN IS THE HEART OF THE QURAN AND ITS NOT
FABRICATED.MAY ALLAH PROTECT US ALWAYS ALLAHUMA AMIN.THANKS
SO MUCH SH.YUSUF 4 THE INSPIRING LECTURE.SURAH YASIN IS ONE
OF MY FAVOURATE SURAHS IN THE NOBLE QURAN.
masha’Allah
In regards,to what Ali said above,no disrespect but you are very wrong indeed. Surah Yasin is the heart of the Qur’an as I have read it in books many times, and Shaykh Muhammad al-Yacoubi has said this in his talk on Surah Yasin. I do not know where you have got your information from, but I suggest you stop reading from that source or stop listening to the people that have told you this as they, themselves, are misguided and are misguiding others.
The below video is from Sayyid Shaykh Muhammad al-Yacoubi.
ditto to what sr. sana said. pls post the other 2 lecs.
May Allah preserve Sh. Hamza! Ameen!
inspiring talk.from where i can get the complete sura?
Truly xcellent! Syukran
Assalamu Alaikum,
I expected more. But Imam admitted it is not an easy task explaining the Quran.
Please visit the following site for the tafsir of the whole Yasin sura:
Quran-Tafsir .org
Abdul jaleel
Brother Abdul Jaleel…like I said the Shaykh is not done with the tafsir yet…he did it in 3 parts n this is just the first part! he did a wonderful wonderful job of it mashaAllah. You will know when you hear the other 2 parts too..I hope the Brother who posted this will post the other two too inshaAllah!
The remaining parts were released by Al Madina institute in audio format and can be accessed here – http://www.almadinainstitute.org/audio/the-heart-of-the-quran-surah-ya-sin/
And LOL he was joking when he said he cant explain the quran because its not easy..he does get to it later!
Jazakallhu kairan sana malik, Insha Allah i wait for the other two parts.
This should be renamed ‘Hamza Yusuf’s ramblings’
might seem like it, but even in his ramblings, he is saying some very important things that would benefit us to know.
mashallah may allah preserve shaykh hamza yusuf for this ummah i really enjoyed the lecture inshallah we can get the other two parts
The Hadith regarding Surah Ya-Sin is weak not fabricated. There is a big difference, because the consensus of the ‘Ulema of all four schools is that weak Hadiths concerning good actions may be acted upon with the correct intention for the sake of Allah.
They cannot be accepted for matters regarding halal/haraam and Aqeedah.
Allah knows best.
I agree with u bro.. indeed we shall recite the translation of Sura-Yaseen first n then think what Allah is saying in it.. coz after reading it i did’nt see any thing for Maghfirat in this Surah…
Assalamu Aleikum, May Allah bless you ShK Hamza Yusuf, I wish though that you have given more tafseer on the surah. You have made me ponder on this surah. I never thought it this way the way you have explained it .. May Allah guide us to the straight path and give us the strenght and knowledge to appreciate our Creator better!
Excellent bayan as always by the knowledgeable Shaykh, May Allah reward him for his efforts.
As some of the posts have already mentioned, Shaykh Muhammad al Yaquobi has put his tafsir of Yasin on a CD set. Highly recommended, get your from http://www.sacredknowledge.co.uk and just marvel at 1400 years of scholarship of the highest integrity. May Allah bless and reward all the Shaykhs and Mashayhs of the path.
JazakAllah Khair!!
Amazing lecture!!
thanks you soooo much for this, please post more if you had!
Jazak Allah Khair!!
Thank you soo much for this, it helped me so much!
dont hesitate to post more if you have !
Where’s the rest?
Br.Ali, Shaykh Al-Albani does not have authorization(ijaza) in the field of hadith from any recognised scholar of hadith, so I would think twice before following his classifications on ahadith.
Very much interesting, Thank You
Mashallah!Great Lecture!!!
This guy is an ocean of knowledge. I pray to Allah SWT to give me half knowledge of what Shaikh Hamza has, and a bit more 🙂
Salam Alaikum
is their like a part 2 or was it just an abrupt end?
barakAllah feekom ya shaikh Hamza Yusuf…muslims like you only show up every 100 years or so…
Asalaam.
Some good comments regarding whether its the heart or whether daif and a person puts it nicely in regards to daif being weak and not fabricated.
personally I am caught between the 2 ideas as I hold this surah dear to my heart though have to follow the Haqq.
I suppose ‘Ilm is the best path to tread with a open mind and clear one. Though we should unite through knowledge and not erect barriers with emotion.
Allahu’alim.
All parts were released by Al Madina and are available here in audio –
